  • What to Do When Your eBay Listings Aren’t Getting Views

What to Do When Your eBay Listings Aren’t Getting Views

After talking about slow sales and why they are normal in the reselling world, the next question many resellers ask is:

“What should I do when my listings aren’t getting views?”

Even experienced sellers run into this situation. A listing can sit for days or even weeks with very little activity, and it can feel frustrating when you know the item has value. The good news is that there are several small adjustments that can help bring new attention to your listings.

    Start With Your Title

One of the most important parts of any eBay listing is the title. If buyers can’t find your item in search, they won’t click on it.

Take a moment to ask yourself:

    • Does the title include the brand?

    • Does it describe the item clearly?

    • Would a buyer search those exact words?

For example, instead of simply writing “Pink Sunglasses,” a stronger title might be something like:

“Women’s Polarized Pink Cat Eye Sunglasses UV Protection Fashion Eyewear.”

A more descriptive title helps eBay understand what the item is and improves its chances of appearing in search results.

    Improve Your Photos

Photos are often the first thing buyers notice. Clear, bright images can make a huge difference in whether someone clicks your listing.

A few simple improvements can help:

    • Use natural lighting whenever possible

    • Photograph items against a clean background

    • Show multiple angles of the product

    • Include close-ups of important details

When buyers can clearly see what they are purchasing, they feel more confident placing an order.

    Refresh Older Listings

Sometimes a listing just needs a small refresh to regain visibility.

Many resellers use the “Sell Similar” feature on eBay. This creates a new listing while keeping most of the original information. It can help the item appear fresh in search results again.

    You can also try:

    • Updating the title

    • Adding new photos

    • Adjusting the price slightly

    • Changing the category if needed

Small updates can sometimes bring new life to a listing that has been sitting.

    Focus on Practical Inventory

Through my experience running Burgoon Home Haven, I’ve learned that certain types of items tend to move faster than others.

Practical items people use every day often sell more consistently than highly specific or trendy pieces. That’s why I try to keep a balanced mix of inventory.

Some items sell quickly, while others take time to find the right buyer. Both can still be profitable when sourced carefully.

    Consistency Matters More Than Speed

One of the biggest lessons in reselling is that success doesn’t come from a single sale. It comes from consistent effort over time.

Listing regularly, improving listings, and continuing to learn the market will gradually build momentum.

Some days the store is busy. Other days are quiet. That’s simply part of running a home-based resale business.

The Journey of Building Burgoon Home Haven

Running Burgoon Home Haven while balancing family life has taught me that patience and consistency are key.

Reselling isn’t always about overnight success. It’s about steadily building something that grows over time.

  • How I Source Inventory as a Busy Mom of Three

How I Source Inventory as a Busy Mom of Three

Running a resale business from home while raising a family means my sourcing strategy has to be realistic, flexible, and efficient. As a busy mom of three, I don’t have the luxury of spending full days hunting for inventory, so I focus intentionally sourcing the fits into my everyday routine.

Instead of relying on one method, I source from a mix of thrift stores, clearance sections, local finds, and occasional bundle deals. I have learned that consistency matters more than perfection. Even quick sourcing trips or small halls can add up to steady inventory over time.

If you’re new to reselling, it’s important to understand that you don’t need massive inventory to start. Many successful resellers begin with just a few quality items sourced affordably. I often look for practical, brand name and every-day use items that families are already searching for online, like clothing, basics, home decor and useful household goods. If your new to reselling check out My #1 Rule as a Reseller: Profit Starts at Purchase

Another key part of my sourcing routine is budgeting I always consider cost of goods before purchasing and ask myself if the item has resale demand reasonable shipping weight and profit potential. This helps me avoid over buying and keeps my business sustainable long term.

Sourcing as a home- based reseller isn’t about chasing every deal- it’s about choosing items that align with your lifestyle, space, and goals. By sourcing intentionally and consistently I’m able to grow Burgoon Home Haven while still prioritizing my family and home life.

  • Why I Still Pick Up $1 Items as a Reseller

Why I Still Pick Up $1 Items as a Reseller

One of the biggest questions I get as a reseller is why still pick up $1 items when I could focus only on higher priced inventory. The answer is simple small profits add up quickly when you source smart

As a home based reseller running Burgoon Home Haven I’m always looking for affordable fines that have everyday demand items like clothing basics home decor kids’ items and brand name pieces can often be found for just a few dollars sometimes even less at clearance or thrift stores

When I buy low cost inventory it gives me flexibility. I can price competitively, except offers and still make a profit without stress. Not every item needs to be a huge flip. Consistent smaller wins create steady income over time

I’ve learned that reselling isn’t about chasing the most expensive items. It’s about spotting value where others overlook it. A $1 item that sells for $12 – $18 may not seem flashy, but when you repeat that process consistently, it builds a reliable income stream from home

  • My #1 Rule as a Reseller: Profit Starts at Purchase

My #1 Rule as a Reseller: Profit Starts at Purchase

As a reseller in busy mom running Burgoon Home Haven’t from home, I’ve learned one simple truth; profit doesn’t start when you sell an item – it starts the moment you buy it.

One of the biggest mistakes new resellers make is paying too much for inventory and hoping to price high later. The reality is smart sourcing is what creates consistent income. Some of my best flips have come from low cost finds at Thrift stores, clearance aisles and bundle deals.

When I find items for under a few dollars, it gives me flexibility. I can accept offers, run sales or relist without stress, because my cost of goods is low. That’s the foundation of sustainable reselling.

Not every item sells overnight. I currently have listings that have been sitting for months, and that’s completely normal in reselling. The key is buying items with strong brands, practical uses and everyday demand- like athletic wear, home decor and kids’ items.

Running a home based resale business while managing work outside the home and family life means I focus on realistic profits, not perfection. Small margins add up over time, and consistency always beats chasing one big flip.
